The Extreme Middle

As someone whose views can be interpreted as to the left or right of the spectrum depending on the issue I do find the use of the word extremist funny. After all on the left most people called extremists would be centrists to some of my friends. Also since when to anyone but a Septic did universal education, water and health care become extreme anyway?  Continue reading “The Extreme Middle”

The Left Follies

It’s easy to suggest that the media or whoever are responsible for the eclipse of the ‘left’ parties of Europe. Irrelevant even when in power to be frank see Brown or Hollande. I am referring to New Labour here rather than whatever welcome Corbyn is destroying with random precision. This is a more general attack than on a particular party and to be honest could be used against most ‘liberal’ thinkers. It is also in the context of seeming liberals supporting a ruling ideology that forsook the poor and claimed GDP growth as Manna achieved by stoking the purchase of 2nd hand assets and the land they stood on as improved living standards. Multiculturalism Is Not Multi Cultural

There was a report in Haaretz which was tortuous but nailed it. Multiculturalism assumes all communities share the same values and if they actually did would not be needed anyway. Multiculturalism falls down because it is not true and people become ghettoised with an identity handed to them whether they want it or not.

People advocating to take 10s 1000s of refugees should bring more than their own piety to the debate if they want to convince the public that taking on people of traditionally poorer backgrounds [in UK] who may fail to integrate will work. Not assume the people asking are racist as frankly it does not matter if they are. Leaving the political field to the Right is surely a bigger miss than dismissing people.

It comes across as those who fire labels back don’t have an answer.

Idiotic Labour Left

Andy Burnham, who knows why and what we will find out they ‘ad on ‘im or maybe Occam’s Razor he is just a complete moron, rushed to endorse the Snooper’s Charter and raise the cost of us using the internet to gather data on us! (VPN anyone?). This and the genuine compassion for migrants and refugees may seem incongruous. What principle does it imply? What does it say to those who live and vote here?

John McDonnell also accepted Austerity even though none of his 6 economic advisers would see that as anything but stupidity. Corbyn is set on unilateralism not making the obvious case against Trident but arguing for something that is frankly Cnut like. Again what is the principle here?

The point is that policies aimed at people who do not even live in the UK or absolutist positions suits the Labour left but it will compromise on our freedom and security on the basis of dogma and ease but not that of other nation’s people! Regardless of anything else this is hardly electable.
