In the end like with BrExit the doom and gloomers are out over the planned policies of Labour. One wonders if Labour is as hooked on bringing back manufacturing and other point-less acts as Donald Trump. However they do retain enough support among a section of economists – some of whom have been patronised by McDonnell. Indeed Chris Dillow said Labour’s critics were the Marxists as they did not believe reform of Capitalism would work and clearly they could not claim it is working now. As an indication of this
You can pretend that others in the political sphere have answers but they do not. All one is left to do is point out that left wing politics of the type Corbyn and McDonnell probably favour has always failed. That a large state is not a problem in and of itself but do people who think rent controls are not more inter-generational theft on their own and suggested by no one expert in the field have enough insight to produce a better society? Indeed their precious Venezuela’s main problems are caused by a toilet paper currency with a fixed exchange rate that is bollocks hence inflation as people try to buy real currency ironically to buy toilet paper.
I don’t like their priorities but my knock on Labour is not they are left wing but stuck in the 70s. With the mindset of Labour passim that you can just legislate what you don’t like people doing. To claim as with BrExit they are a huge problem to a dysfunctional economy is to give Labour credibility as they are not the present danger and prevent real questions of their competence and vision and solutions.
Neo Libs final admit they are into Liberalism – the illiberal running of society on a specious belief in absurdly labeled ‘free’ markets. They’re very good at claiming reductions in poverty that are nothing to do with their policies and changing of criteria to pretend that’s true. Continue reading “neo Liberalism: It Runs Deep”
It’s difficult to get over the modern need for hate and hence virtue in the brain of the hater. Yet Labour has 3 strings to its bow on the self love hate stakes:-
- Corbynistas or Momentum or The Left a group who think they can ignore economics or advice and be credible with a skeptical public. They find victims in every corner. Backed by a series of out of date ideas that ignore the changes in work and production and the future at the expense of platitudes and appeals to virtue.
- The Moderates. These people push the extreme liberalism whilst enacting the kind of policies that stifle wages and boost assets. All whilst celebrating differences as embodied by their Jim Crowist policy of multiculturalism. They and the progressives will rant at Tim Farron’s religious beliefs [and hence their own superior creed] but celebrate the greater and actual bigotry of Islam and the mainstream Muslim community. Nicer to the poor than the Tories in the short term but ultimately with same aim – an ordered society of a medicated poor and an elite. Oddly a middle class group seeking their own oblivion albeit with the expectation among the few who understand their creed they will be part of the elite see the Blairs and Browns.
- The Progressives who see the need for an alliance with Greens and Liberals as though they represent a single strand of opinion. They seek to be the glue in between the other 2. The major flaw they have is they cannot unite the Labour party never mind an infantile Green party which talks of banning horse racing and Liberal party that is not Liberal. Economically more for localism, environmentalism and other good but hard to sell non concrete stuff.
All 3 united in the identerism that those outside any of these creeds find so off-putting and un-voteable. All love great cries of sexism and racism and can remove TV hosts but precious little else. They are also united in slagging each other off too.
It’s easy to suggest that the media or whoever are responsible for the eclipse of the ‘left’ parties of Europe. Irrelevant even when in power to be frank see Brown or Hollande. I am referring to New Labour here rather than whatever welcome Corbyn is destroying with random precision. This is a more general attack than on a particular party and to be honest could be used against most ‘liberal’ thinkers. It is also in the context of seeming liberals supporting a ruling ideology that forsook the poor and claimed GDP growth as Manna achieved by stoking the purchase of 2nd hand assets and the land they stood on as improved living standards. Orlando shows many on the left unable to comprehend that someone brought up to hate gay people by hate preachers and his father was primarily influenced by his religion, Islam. That he may have been crazy and gay himself merely what turned him from a confused hater into a murder and terrorist. It’s beyond ridiculous to write stuff about homophobia when over half UK Muslims believe it should be illegal. You’re leaving the argument to the right with ‘virtue signalling’. Apparently the leader of the UK Labour Party will not appear on a platform with David Cameron. Just more random make yourself look fucking stupid principles from the party of one eyed conceit? It’s dumb politics if nothing else? Continue reading “Corbyn No Platforms Himself?”
